During my Yukon River Quest Race I had planned to make an attempt on the 24 hour World Record on flowing water. This was going to be difficult as I would have to start the 24 hour clock 35 hours into my race (the first half of the race had a 42km non flowing lake which would make my attempt null and void). This meant starting the clock after my first compulsory rest stop at Carmacks. In addition I was carrying approx 10kg of kit on my board and I would have to keep the 24 hour clock running during my second compulsory rest stop of 3 hours at Coffee Creek. The clock had to run for a continuous 24 hours, so I lost 3 hours of paddling time.
I managed to increase the current 24 hour World Record on flowing water from 223.70 to 283.32km.
Maybe time to try again for a solid 24 hours and get that distance above 300km
