Having spent most of my adult life partaking in sports such as distance running, dinghy sailing, offshore yachting, rowing and wakeboarding I decided in 2011 it was time for something new. Whilst in Australia I played around on a Stand Up Paddleboard and enjoyed the sport.
In 2012 I found out there was a thriving race scene in the UK and decided to try my hand at racing. I quickly realised SUP would be the most physically demanding sport I would ever do, so decided to change my diet and increase my training schedule.
After spending 3 years racing in the UK and International and wining the 12’6 and 14′ National Championship in addition to the Naish One National Championship, both overall and Inland Championship I decided to turn my hand to ultra endurance racing.
In addition to my personal racing I developed National racing in the UK. Creating UK SUP to facilitate and run a multi race series to establish National Champions. We have over 300 paddlers racing every year in many race classes and age groups http://www.uksup.co.uk
